Biography of Late Mohbullah Mahalat

Birth and Lineage

Late Mohbullah Mahalat was born in approximately 1897 AD. His father was the late Molabdi Mahalat and his mother was the late Gyanu Bibi. He came from a farming family. His brother was the late Ghuru Mahalat and his sister was the late Dumoni Bibi.

Address and Residence

Late Mohbullah Mahalat was a permanent resident of Khalishakuri village, Ward No. 8 of Bholahat Union Parishad No. 1, Bholahat Upazila, Chapainawabganj District.

Personality, Conduct and Profession

Late Mohbullah Mahalat was born into an established farming family. Cultivating their own land was their profession. From childhood he was obedient and gentle-natured. In his adulthood he married the late Khatun Bibi, daughter of the late Amir Jan of the neighbouring Piranchak (Bajratek) village. He was the father of five daughters and had no sons. A very hardworking man, as the eldest son he was always responsible and caring towards his family. Every day he rose at dawn and offered Fajr prayer in congregation at the mosque. Then he would wrap his breakfast in a gamchha and head to the field, working there all day and returning home in the evening, offering his remaining prayers in the field. He did not grieve over having no sons; instead he loved and cherished his daughters dearly. His family recalls that he never had any quarrel or dispute with anyone in the village. This extremely gentle and noble-hearted man was also responsible towards society, serving as the head of the Bajratek Kanarhat Gondujwala Mosque committee for forty long years.

• Khale Alampur Madrasa: 1 bigha.

Physical Build

Late Mohbullah Mahalat was a lightly built man. Perhaps because of his hard work he enjoyed a disease-free life. According to his family, he never suffered from age-related ailments, and his complexion was bright and fair.

Death

On Tuesday, 8 December 1987 at 8 pm, the noble-hearted Late Mohbullah Mahalat passed away at his home after suffering from age-related illness (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun). He was 90 years old at the time of his death. In accordance with the wishes of his successors and the college authorities, he was buried on 9 December 1987 on the premises of Bholahat Mohbullah Mahavidyalaya. May Almighty Allah grant him Paradise and shower His mercy upon his soul.
